Rates

Your service will be pre-activated with CAD$10 that automatically assign you to the "Use your Fido as you need it" rate plan (CAD$0.30 per minute).

Once in Canada, you simply purchase from a range of airtime voucher plans (top up vouchers) with multiple denominations that will automatically provide you with the following rates:

"Use your Fido when you need it"

  • Buy a CAD $10 and pay CAD$0.30 per minute anytime (calling and receiving). Valid for 30 days.

"You always want to stay in touch with your friends"

  • Buy a CAD $15 recharge and pay CAD$0.15 per minute anytime (calling and receiving). Valid for 15 days.
  • Buy a CAD $30 recharge and pay CAD$0.15 per minute anytime (calling and receiving). Valid for 30 days.

"You live for nights and weekends"

  • Buy a CAD $20 recharge (valid for 20 days) and pay:
    - CAD$0.05 per minute evenings 7pm-8am and weekends (calling and receiving)
    - CAD$0.40 per minute weekdays 8am -7pm (calling and receiving)

Text Messaging (SMS)

  • CAD$0.15 per SMS to Canadian or American wireless carriers
  • CAD$0.20 per SMS to other countries

Long Distance across Canada and calls to the USA

Add CAD$0.20c per minute to your local call plan rate (Airtime charges)

International calls from Canada

International calls are automatically activated when you subscribe. Airtime charges apply.

Activating your account

Your Canadian mobile service will be activated with a Toronto phone number. This is your local calling area. If you require a local phone number for a different location in Canada (eg Montreal, Vancouver etc), we can help you out. Please place your order via Customer service

Making calls

To make local calls within Canada, always dial the three digit area code followed by the phone number you wish to call.

To make international calls from Canada, enter +, then the country code (US:1, UK: 44, Germany: 49, Australia: 61), area code (without the leading 0) followed by the phone number you wish to call.

Recharging your account

Top-up your prepaid service account whenever you want

From your mobile

  1. Call *46 from your mobile phone.
  2. Answer "yes" to the question: Can I help you to refill your account today?
  3. Say or enter your 10-digit phone number (including the area code) and your access code.
  4. Answer "credit card" to the question: Will you be using a voucher or a credit card?
  5. Choose the desired rate per minute.
  6. Select the refill amount.
  7. Confirm the transaction.

From the website

  1. Go to www.fido.ca
  2. Enter your mobile phone number and password into the Manage your Account box, then click 'Login'.
    * First time users will need to register their mobile phone number to receive a login and password. Register now
  3. Select Refill your prepaid account.
  4. Select InstantRefill.
  5. Select the refill amount.
  6. Confirm the transaction.

From retail outlets

With prepaid vouchers, available at Fido stores and kiosks or with electronic prepaid vouchers available at more than 4,000 retail outlets across Canada such as Future Shop, Mac's, Couche-Tard and 7-Eleven.
