Rates are in euros. To work out the approximate rate in US dollars, multiple the euro rate by the exchange rate of 1.52 (correct as of July 2008). For example €0.29 x 1.52 = $0.44 USD.

** Calls to mobile phones are charged up to €0.40 per minute higher than the landline rate. The actual charge depends on the country and the mobile network you are calling.
^ International text message is not 100% reliable as it involves third parties' roaming networks. Unfortunately no network provider can guarantee International text message delivery and unsuccessful attempts to send an International text message may still incur a network charge. You need a minimum balance of 3 euros to send a text message.

The Caribbean service can be used to make calls in over 20 Caribbean countries and most islands.

The Caribbean coverage includes: Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Republic (including Juan Polio, Boca Chica, Puerto Plata, La Romana, Puta Cana Plata), Grenada, Jamaica, Martinique, Puerto Rico, St Barthelemy, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Martin, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, Turks and Caicos Islands and the US Virgin Islands (including St Croix, St. Thomas and St. John).

The Central American coverage includes: Belize, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua.

The South American coverage includes: Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, French Guiana, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela.

Calls can also be made from the United States, Canada and Mexico (including Cancun, Cozumel and Riviera Maya).

Getting Started

Your Caribbean SIM card is already active for you. When you receive your package, read the user guide carefully and then:

  1. Check that the SIM card is correctly inserted and secure.
    * The SIM card is already inserted into your mobile phone if you ordered one. The SIM card is the small chip card located in the back of the phone. It allows you to connect to the network.
  2. Attach the fully charged battery to the mobile phone.
  3. Turn the mobile on.
    * Refer to your handset user guide on how to turn it on.
  4. Enter the 4-digit PIN found on the enclosed card and press OK.
    Your PIN code is a four digit code located on the PIN/PUK information card that accompanies your SIM card. Please enter the PIN correctly. The service will be blocked if the PIN is entered incorrectly 3 times during log-in. When the mobile phone registers with an available network (30-120 seconds) it is ready for use.

Making calls

Making a call with your Caribbean service is a little different from normal calling but so easy!

Important:

  • Always dial the full international phone number
  • After dialing, you will be briefly disconnected and receive a call back. Answer normally like when receiving a call and wait for your call to be connected.

How to make a call

  1. Enter + (Hold down the + key until you see a + on your screen).
    Entering '+' replaces the need to dial the international dialing code for the country you are in.
  2. Enter the country code (US is 1), area code (without the leading 0) and phone number.
    Example, to the US dial +16171231234, to the UK dial +442079432772 and to Australia dial +61396747000.
  3. Press the Answer key and wait for the call back.
    Ignore the text shown on your screen such as 'Call Waiting' or 'Call Blocked'. You will be briefly disconnected for 10-30 seconds then will receive a call back.
  4. Press the Answer key to answer the call.
    After 10-15 seconds your call will be connected.
  5. Press the End key to finish the call.

How to receive a call

Just like at home…when your phone rings simply press the Answer key to answer the call.

How family and friends can call you

Your family and friends must enter the international dialing prefix for the country they are in followed by your mobile phone number. For example, they need to dial 011 then your mobile number if they are in the US.

  1. Dial the toll free access number for the country you are in.
  2. Press the call, send or OK key (ignoring any messages on the screen), and wait for the call back.
  3. 3. Answer the call normally.
    After 10-15 seconds your call will be connected.
  4. Press 0# to speak to Customer service.
  5. 5. Press 0 for English.
